Spring Has Sprung

STAR OF THE WEEK
Thank-you to J. and her family for the continued adventures of Wazo and Zazo, for the beads for our estimating jar, and for sharing so many beads and the cording to make our patterned caterpillars during her Star of the Week! This week’s star is G.!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
One of our Spring themes in April is the work of Eric Carle, with special concentration on his classic tale The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Look for artwork, stories, and activities related to this theme.

In conjuction with our Spring theme and Earth Day, we have written class stories, we will be planting beans in our science/gardening/drama centre, and having a reading/screening (depending upon availability) of the Dr. Suess classic The Lorax on Thursday. The reading is available for download on the Winnipeg Public Library website (narrated by John Lithgow) if you would like to share in the enjoyment of oral storytelling with your child, or as a read-a-long if you have a copy of the book at home.
