The students learned about Advent as a time of waiting and preparing for the celebration of Jesus' birth, and the children worked very hard to create their 24 loop calendar, all in numerical order. Some students added patterning of numbers and of the colour of the chain, and all were topped with a treat to enjoy on Christmas Eve. Once taken home, the children were given the option to take stickers to place on each day as it passes, or to remove a loop, then to count the days that remain until Christmas.
