A "Hibernation Party" is a great culmination for our bear learning, just in time for the Spring thaw! This has been an excellent year to demonstrate that the seasons on the calendar do not always correspond to expected seasonal changes in our part of the country, as winter has overlapped (drastically) into both "Fall" and "Spring".
The students' "boat for a bear" design project and class-designed and built, recyclable "reading corner" bear den have been the cause for much great planning, cooperation, and learning. Thank you, parents, for your incredible support of your child's learning, both at home and in your 100% attendance turnout for student-led conferences this month.

Our class pet, Maya the rabbit, has taught us much about the needs of living things this year, and this has applied seamlessly with our "needs of living things" learning throughout our bear unit, and.seasonal discussions. She will undoubtedly miss the students on Spring Break. May it be a safe, restful time for all of our BSLS families.
