Our first day back was packed with the excitement of meeting a new Kindergarten student, with two Kindergarten birthdays (thank you for the yummy cupcakes!) and a kickoff to our Winter theme for the next two weeks. Watch for our work and art on the bulletin board in the next couple of days.
We said a sad farewell to one of our Kindergarteners on the last day of December classes, as he moved out of the province with his family for an exciting ministry opportunity. We will be writing letters to send to him in the days ahead, as we practice our letter formation (printing) and writing skills.
Just a few reminders as we head back into the daily school routine:
- It's a great idea to have an extra set of clothing in the locker. Spills, wet snow, and accidents are regular parts of life in Kindergarten.
- Class begins at 8:45am. I recommend that students be in the classroom by 8:40 so that they have enough time greet their classmates and begin their morning work. Late slips are issued after 8:45am.
- Bookworm bags that are returned every day really assist the students in tracking notes to and from home.
- I look forward to the months of learning ahead! If you ever have questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me by phone, email, or a note with your child. Happy New Year!
