Learning About Celebrations Around the World

With worldwide moves and travel for Kindergarteners, and the Chinese New Year approaching, our students were very interested in the Public Television video about different celebrations. We saw:
How to make a piƱata in Mexico
Wishing grapes, face painting and beach dancing in Portugal
Cards, rice pounding, kites and badminton in Japan
Special sweet food for a sweet year, and requests for forgiveness from
friends, ancient ram horn, playing ball and flying kites, and circle
                dancing in Israel.
Banging pots and pans and going from house to house to sing, and to
share four leaf clovers and baked treats with one another
                in Germany.
Ski and sled races, walking and sleigh riding through the streets
after sunset to put candles in the snow in Norway.
