Patterns Patterns Everywhere...and Real Life 3-D Shape Learning (Introductory Lesson and Song)

Recognizing patterns assists children in later algorithms in math, in problem solving, in printing, in artistic expression, and in reading and writing development.

Looking for patterns in the world around them is generally fun for Kindergarten-aged children, and we engage in it in a variety of ways at school.  If your child has access to a computer, they can play the game on the link below.  It contains a multiple-levelled pattern maze game for a variety of stages of learning.  Also on the site is a game to match 2-D and 3-D shapes that will be used to introduce our sorting and shape building in class.
